Overall questions about the calls
Application deadline for all calls: 12 November 2025, at 11:59 AM.
To receive funding from MissionGreenFuels you must be a partner in the partnership. Organizations not a part of MissionGreenFuels can request to join on our website here.
Applications must be submitted by e-mail to missiongreenfuels.applications@aau.dk.
All projects can have maximum 75% of the project’s total costs covered.
Yes. According to the rules on State Aid (Statsstøtte) there is a difference in investment rates between industrial research and experimental development. The rates can be found in chapter 3 in the Guidelines for Grand Solutions and Innomission Partnerships here.
Only salary costs for the time spend on the project can be included in the budget.
In principle you can apply for a project alone. However, please be aware of the State Aid (Statsstøtte) rules of collaboration, with a 15% decrease in investment rate for some categories, if it is not a collaboration between at least 2 partners. If applying without any partners in your application, please make sure to describe carefully how this will contribute to the MissionGreenFuels roadmap and mission.
No, these tables must be kept in the application document. In the description for the application is specifically says “(the 30.000 characters includes spaces and text in tables. Tables etc. in the application template cannot be moved to any appendices)”. Appendix a is for figures/tables/reference list etc. that supports the application but is not mandatory.
Yes, According to the guidelines (3.1 IFD maximum investment rates and co‐financing) “The budget may also include financing from other sources. In order to ensure compliance with the EU rules on state aid, the co‐financing may not include funds from public sector subsidisation schemes within the EU or EU Member States, including Denmark, unless this has been explicitly sanctioned by IFD. In this connection, enterprises must observe that the EU’s scope of legal state aid comprises the total funds from public sector subsidisation schemes regarded as state aid.”
Yes, please take a look in the guidelines for grand solutions and innomission partnerships (here).
1. Ressource procurement (Input)
Identification, sourcing, and supply of biomass, CO₂, green electricity, or waste materials (feedstock) used as input for fuel production.
2. Fuel production
Processes that transform the basic energy resources into primary energy carriers (e.g. hydrogen).
3. Refining and upgrading
Processes that purify, enhance or synthesise fuels/hydrogen to meet specific quality and performance standards.
4. Storage
Technologies and systems for containing larger quantities of fuels (methanol, ammonia, hydrogen, SAF) over time.
5. Transport
Logistics and infrastructure for moving fuels from production to consumption sites, covering pipelines, trucks, ships, etc.
6. Distribution
End-point delivery for supplying fuels to users (e.g. fueling stations, industrial supply lines, on-site storage).
7. Utilisation/End-user
Application of the fuels in end-use sectors such as heavy transport, aviation, shipping, and power generation in industry. The end-user is responsible for sourcing of energy/fuels, as well as new technologies and assets capable of utilising these, often with the purpose of reducing GHG emissions and environmental impact. Furthermore, end-users are also responsible for meeting new regulatory requirements and handling all technical and commercial risks related to the application of new and more expensive energy, following the energy transition. Utilisation includes extensive field testing of new technologies and fuels as a means to overcome technical challenges and test production and supply chain infrastructure.
8. Post-treatment and recycling
Handling of byproducts, residues or emissions, and processes for material recovery or environmental management.
